The stressed area then fractures due to the tensile stress, completing the glass cutting process. Mechanical cutting offers fast speeds and the greatest versatility in choosing glass thickness, making it the most mainstream cutting method currently in use.

Laser cutting operates based on pre-loaded designs in the computer. High-energy density laser beams scan the glass surface according to the specified dimensions of the design.
